FPC Bryan Mission Grants
Background
First Presbyterian Church of Bryan (FPC) has been blessed in many ways. One of those blessings is the FPC Foundation. Established in the 1980s, this foundation has grown through the years through wise investments to yield charitable opportunities to the church and beyond our church walls. We are humbled by (and appreciative of) the level of outreach that FPC has extended to those less fortunate in our local community and beyond. Earnings from the FPC Foundation has allowed FPC Missions Committee to award grants to many non-profit entities/organizations.
Elgibility
An applying entity/organization must have a 501(c)3 non-profit status (with some exceptions.) Please contact the FPC Missions Committee if you have any questions (office@fpcbryan.org).
The types of projects/programs that we consider when reviewing grant requests include entities with an organizational mission focusing on a societal need. The list is long; a few examples include programs helping the homeless, foster children, domestic violence victims, those with food insecurity, and more. We consider all grant requests (ie., local, regional, state, national, and beyond.).
Applicants may submit their grant request application at any time during the year.
Note – there are limitations as to the number of awards an entity/organization can receive:
Only 1 grant award per year with a maximum of three consecutive years of receiving an award. (For example, if an entity is awarded a grant in 2024, 2025 and 2026, the entity will not be eligible again until 2028.)
The Process
The applicant must complete & submit the online mission request application form. If any questions, please contact the FPC Missions Committee (office@fpcbryan.org). If the applicant would like to include additional information or photos not required in the online application form, please email that information as an attachment(s) to office@fpcbryan.org.
The submitted request form will be distributed to the FPC Missions Committee in a timely fashion.
The committee will review the application at its next monthly meeting (or as soon as possible.) At that time, the committee will either decline or recommend the request (either the full request or in part) for approval.
If recommended, the committee will forward the request to the Session (i.e., the church’s governing body) for approval.
If the Session votes to approve the grant request, the applicant will be notified by the Missions Committee Chair. Logistics for receiving the grant award check will be discussed at that time.
Within three months after project completion, we request that the grant recipient submit an informal report that provides information about your completed project. We like to share your results with our church members; photos are appreciated!
